Associated Pennsylvania Constructors Career Day
Pennsylvania Construction Career Day is an industry sponsored event for high school students to explore career opportunities in highway design, construction, and maintenance. Planned activities include operating heavy equipment, testing materials, surveying, welding, designing a bridge, use of safety equipment, concrete finishing, drilling, rebar tying, estimating a job, use of GPS/GIS information technology, and much more. Small groups of students are escorted by construction industry volunteers who serve as a source of information about the business as well as guides to the activities.
Congress-Bundestag Scholarship
The Congress-Bundestag Vocational Scholarship provides an opportunity for U.S. high school graduates who have undertaken vocational training to spend their 13th year abroad pursuing their vocational interests.
Farm Show
The 96th annual Farm Show is set for Jan. 7-14, 2012, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg.
Integrated Learning Conference
On November 7-9, 2012, the Twenty-First Annual Conference on Integrated Learning: The School-To-Career Connection will be conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Career and Technical Education. The conference will take place at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, Pennsylvania. The goal of the conference is to provide conferees concurrent sessions that will share strategies and programs that prepare students for postsecondary education and careers in the global economy of the 21st century, enabling students to be highly skilled, better prepared, and more innovative than ever before upon graduating from high school.
