Overview
The Regional Summer Schools of Excellence (RSSE) are summer enrichment programs serving students in K-12 who possess outstanding skills, display unusual abilities, and/or are identified as talented or gifted. The Pennsylvania Department of Education awards fifteen grants of $6,000 each to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) on a competitive basis to use as seed money in developing these programs.
A Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) is released in January; the proposals are due in February; selection takes place mid to late February; programs operate in July and August. The selection process is highly competitive.
