In order to provide increased information to the public and to enhance the Department of Education’s ability to offer support and technical assistance to school districts, career and technical centers and charter schools, the Department annually collects information on the status of the Commonwealth’s school facilities and projected future construction needs. This essential information will be collected for school year 2007-2008 via a web-based process.
The school facility survey is designed to collect information for each school building in the Commonwealth, including but not limited to the name of the school building, site size, grades housed and other pertinent building-level data. Using the data collected, the Department produces a status report on Pennsylvania’s school construction infrastructure and projected needs.
